Stefan In Depth

Growing up on the coasts of Seychelles had Stefan connect with the ocean at a very young age. Shortly after childhood, he found himself on the shores of Dahab and that's when he decided to shift his life and spend more of his waking hours underwater.
Stefan found his lifetime passion for freediving in 2006 in Dahab and has been a full time Instructor since 2011. He has been an active competitor for over 12 years, and has set 19 German National Records in all competition depth disciplines.
In 2017, he took his love to the ocean deeper and became the first German freediver to surpass the magic 100m depth mark. Finding freedom in diving without equipment has led him to specialize in freediving without fins, in 2023 Stefan placed 3rd in the disciplines AIDA world ranking. Having taught and trained freediving in most of the worlds best locations, Stefan is now based in Dahab enjoying the year round prime diving conditions supplemented by the Sinai's raw natural beauty in and out of the water. His passion is the coaching and personalized guidance of divers from beginner to elite levels with an emphasis on gradual and safe progression that prioritizes quality and enjoyment over rushed achievements.
